  1. Still don't understand the selection of DWL as Bird's trainer but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised - sure hope so.

  2. There is nothing wrong with Mine that Bird. If people try to change his style, they will be setting him up for failure. He's as good as any horse running today. He has a problem adjusting to pro-ride, and does best on dirt, but for Gods' sake leave his style alone. Falling back off the pace and closing hard is how the little gelding runs. His running style didn't prevent him from winning the derby. People expect too much from these noble animals. When a horse loses a few races, it's change the jockey, get a new trainer, try something different. Many thoroughbred owners are just greedy and don't respect their horses. I realize it's a business, but horses like Mine that Bird give so much, and it's never enough.

  5. For what it’s worth, this was recently posted on the Website www.minethatbird.com: “NOTICE: THE WEBCAM WILL BE DOWN DURING TRAINING AT CHURCHILL.” Oh, brother. You two guys are just too much ... I'm confused by this statement! My only question is: When is a race horse NOT in training?
